Asami Freya was singing in a garage for an audience of two when Danger City started answering back, and now every story the city tells runs through her first. She found Lacy. She pulled in River. She built the band before there was anything to build it for. The file lists her as the founder. The city just calls her the first face it ever saw.

Compiled from venue records, fan footage, and one label memo nobody will claim writing. The subject reviewed this file personally. She corrected nothing and underlined two sentences. The file does not know which two.
Before there was a city, there was a garage, and before there was a band, there was Asami Freya singing to nobody in it. The record is thin on where the voice came from. The record is unanimous on what it does to a room.
She is the collector of the three. She heard Lacy Evangeline singing over wet paint and did not leave until there was a microphone involved. She brought in River and never explained from where. Three friends making music for fun, until the songs started belonging to something bigger: Danger City, a neon noir film project with television ambitions, scored track by track by a band nobody had heard of yet. Her voice is the one the city speaks in. That was never voted on. It was simply obvious.
Where Lacy is the sweetness and River is the redacted, Asami is the intent. First on stage, last to leave, the one watching the room while the room watches her. Witnesses describe her as magnetic and then, in the same breath, ask that their names not be used.
The file lists her as File 001 for a reason. Every other file in this drawer exists because she opened it.
