About the Label

This page was not written to welcome you. It was written because someone left the file on the table, and you happen to be the one standing over it. City of Dolls is not for everyone. Keep reading and find out which one you are.

01 // The Sound

Grown music for grown ears. Unfiltered by design, and not sorry about it.

City of Dolls Records makes dark pop and synthwave out of Danger City. No tower, no committee, no one upstairs to answer to. A garage band with a city attached, carving out its own corner of music and entertainment and refusing to sand the edges off to fit anywhere.

The songs are sensual because the girls are. They run hot, they run late, and they say what they mean. If a track makes you lean in, it was written for you. If it makes you clutch something, it was not, and that is fine. The door was never meant to fit everyone through it.

03 // The Band Lives Twice

Life One · The Room

The Girls

Three voices, one garage, a catalog growing one transmission at a time. DangerGirlx writes it, records it, and puts it out with nobody's permission. Singles now, EPs next, a body of work you can get lost in after that. The music is the spine. Everything else grows off of it.

Life Two · The Screen

The World

The band exists twice. Once in the room, once in the world being drawn around it. Anime, shows, films, stories scored by the label that built them, with the girls at the center of every frame. Danger City is being built to be watched, not just heard, and the fans who are here early get to watch it rise.

DangerGirlx

There is a second broadcast under this one. The story side. The city itself, the characters, the parts of the file that stay sealed for now. It is real, it is being built, and it is not public yet. When it opens, the people already inside will know first.

File 000 · Final Page

Somewhere in the city,
the girls are recording.

DangerGirlx is a Bay Area band, three voices with a room full of friends behind them. Asami Freya, Lacy Evangeline, and Dahlia River are the front of it, the voices this whole project is built around. Behind them a small team of creators works the same late hours on the same idea. The songs come first, and around the songs the team is building a series, the music that scores it, and the stories of Danger City itself, a band made for the record and for the screen. It started as friends making something together. It still is.
